Calamondin

The calamondin is a citrus fruit, a cross between a kumquat and a mandarin orange, highly prized as a houseplant for its decorative appeal. Its small, fragrant flowers and bright orange fruits appear year-round, but are primarily used in cooking (jams, chutneys) because they are very acidic when raw, although their peel is edible. It is easy to grow in a pot and tolerates indoor heat well, requiring moderate watering and humidity.
